THE RIFLEMAN (TV / 2CD) (CD)
Composed by: Herschel Burke Gilbert

"Laurel Records proudly announces the release of Music From THE RIFLEMAN® Television Series composed by Herschel Burke Gilbert. The wildly popular Series ran from 1958 through 1963. Reruns continue to this day. Conceived, produced, and directed by the team of Jules Levy, Arthur Gardner, and Arnold Laven, the show gained a devoted following. Particularly popular was the music, which was composed by veteran Hollywood composer Gilbert who had earned 3 Academy nominations for his film scores. So popular was the music that Gilbert occasionally received more fan mail for his scoring than the show’s star, Chuck Connors. This 2 CD set contains cues originally written for the series (including the original and revised end titles) remastered from the original audio tapes plus a bonus CD of extras, including selected cues from Gilbert’s film scores used in the series, as well as vocals and extra materials not used on-screen. A 24-page booklet explains the history of the scoring and has lyrics to The Rifleman Song, which has never been heard before this release. Series video is available from LGLProductions (www.TheRifleman.net). This long awaited CD set of the original music is a must have for any fan of THE RIFLEMAN®" -LAUREL RECORDS

WOW, FINALLY, I NEVER THOUGHT THAT I WOULD LIVE TO SEE THE DAY THAT MY FAVORITE TV SHOW WOULD MAKE IT OUT ON CD, THE SOUNDTRACK TO THE RIFLEMAN.

SURE THE SOUNDTRACK WILL BE JUST AS GOOD AS THE RIFLEMAN TV SERIES ITSELF, OK MAYBE NOT AS GOOD BUT THE MUSICAL SCORE IS SOMETHING THAT ONCE YOU HEAR IT YOU JUST CANT GET IT OUT OF YOUR HEAD AND THATS NOT EVEN TALKING ABOUT THE MAIN TITLE SCORE, IT WAS THE PERFECT SCORE WITH EVERY SCENE.

OK,SO IM BIASED,I GREW UP IN THAT ERA WHEN WESTERNS WERE KING OF TV.
I THINK WHAT MADE THE RIFLEMAN TV SERIES SO GREAT IT IS THAT EVERY ACTOR OR ACTRESS WAS TOP NOTCH,GREAT ACTING, EXCELLENT DIALOGUE AND SCREEN WRITING, TERRIFIC PLOTS AND NOT JUST ANOTHER SHOOT'EM UP BANG BANG WESTERN, BUT THE SHOW NEVER GOT BORING ALWAYS LEAVING YOU WANTING MORE, ALONG WITH MORALS, ETHICS, VALUES,BIBLICAL QUOTES AND LIFE LESSONS AND OF COURSE A LOVING FATHER WITH HIGH MORALS,VALUES,AND WANTED THE BEST FOR HIS SON "MARK" PLAYED BY NO OTHER THAT ADORABLE LITTLE BOY WHO ANYONE WOULD HAVE BEEN PROUD TO HAVE A SON OF THEIR OWN, I KNOW I WOULD.

NOW GETTING BACK TO THE SOUNDTRACK, IM SURE THE LATE CHUCK CONNERS WOULD HAVE APPROVED OF IT EVEN THOUGH I NEVER MET HIM, BUT I DO KNOW ACTOR JOHNNY CRAWFORD PERSONALLY ( YES, HE IS STILL ALIVE AND WELL)A LITTLE OLDER AND TRAVELING ALL OVER THE COUNTRY SIGNING AUTOGRAPHS,TAKING PICTURES WITH FANS AND DOING HIS PART TO STOP THE WILD HORSE AND BURRO ROUND UPS AND SPEAKING UP TO STOP THE SLAUGHTER OF OUR NATIONAL TREASURES--OUR WILDLIFE.
HE ALSO HAS A BIG BAND ORCHESTRA THAT PERFORMS ALL OVER,AND IF YOU NEVER MET HIM, YOU ARE TRULY MISSING OUT ON ONE OF THE MOST DOWN TO EARTH GUYS, NOT EGOTISTICAL AND SO CARING AND LOVING, SO FRIENDLY TODAY AND ALMOST AS CUTE AS HE WAS WHEN HE PLAYED "MARK" AND HIS LOVE FOR MUSIC, WELL YOU CAN SEE FOR YOURSELF AS HE STILL HAS CDS AVAILABLE FOR SALE AND JUST CAME OUT WITH A NEW ONE.

HE STILL HAS A LOYAL FOLLOWING ON FACEBOOK AND IM SURE HE WILL BE ABSOLUTELY THRILLED TO HEAR THAT THE RIFLEMAN CD SOUNDTRACK IS FINALLY COMING OUT FOR ALL THE RIFLEMAN FANS AND FAMILY TO ENJOY, THE MUSIC WAS JUST TOO GOOD NOT TOO SHARE IT WITH THE WORLD AND I AM THANKFUL THAT SCREEN ARCHIVES FILM SCORE ENTERTAINMENT ARE THE ONES THAT ARE SELLING IT AS THEY CONTINUE TO BE ONE OF THE MOST REPUTABLE HARD TO FIND CD RETAIL OUTLETS OUT THERE, THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART,AND IM SURE JOHNNY CRAWFORD THANKS YOU TOO.

THE RIFLEMAN TV SERIES AND MUSIC WILL ALWAYS HAVE A SPECIAL PLACE IN MY HEART, REMEMBERING THE GOOD OLD DAYS, THEY JUST DONT MAKE'EM LIKE THAT ANYMORE AND THE CD SOUNDTRACK IS LONG OVERDUE.

YOURS TRULY

I'm amazed they still had the source files for this music after all these years. The CD is just what I was wanting/expecting! Highly recommended.
