Malawi, Africa's poorest country, was hit by a drought in 2001. A true story of a miracle that a 14-year-old boy William, who abandoned school due to poverty due to famine, created a wind power generation by himself based on a book he read at the library and opened up his own future with his family.
The original story depicting this experience has been translated in 23 countries and has become a global bestseller, and has been selected by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology here in Japan as well.
The director is Chiwetel Ejiofor, who will make his debut as a feature film director. Learning opens up the future and enriches our lives. The single-minded appearance of the main character, the boy William, teaches us the importance of learning. Music expresses the magnificent nature of Africa and the rigors of living there, such as "Central Station," "City of God," "City of Men," and "Love in the Age of Cholera."
