In the 1980s, film composer Paul Hertzog made his mark by scoring the martial arts classics Bloodsport and Kickboxer. In 2015 he released this entirely new set of instrumental songs as a tribute to those scores and their fans, this time as film music without a film. This music tells a story that each listener can seek for himself, though the composer has posted a scenario of his own on his website. Certainly the martial arts are involved. The classic beats and memorable melodies that underlay both the fights and meditations of Mr. Van Damme in those 80s films find completely new parallels here with the added benefit of modern technology to supply more punch, clarity, and depth. Those that train for the martial arts while listening to Mr. Hertzog's music will certainly find new inspiration here. Play it loud.
