One of the seminal scores of the 1980s, "Stripes" was a huge hit and featured a score by one of film music's greatest legends, yet still there was no soundtrack release. Elmer Bernstein's score for "Stripes" is a classic. For it he composed a march that was every bit as memorable as the one he wrote for "The Great Escape." Once again, Bernstein played the comedy straight and what resulted is a tremendously exciting action score. It comes from a particularly exciting time in Bernstein's career.
