Working for the third time with the immensely talented composer David James Nielsen, we present a great epic score from a small production. Tall Ships: Privateer Lynx is an exciting documentary made by Robert Margouleff for The Sailing Channel and it boosts a particularly impressive soundtrack where the composer is inspired by such film music greats as John Williams and Tan Dun. The music for Tall Ships is rich in harmony and colour, and is built on a plethora of thematic ideas. A lot of the music on this album has that melodic quality that you rarely find in big commercial blockbusters these days – Tall Ships: Privateer Lynx is yet another example of the fact that some of the best film music is to be found in the smallest of film projects!
