Gladness is the princess of an imaginary kingdom and far, far away. Blonde and enchanting, she is neglected by subjects and tabloids who have never forgotten the charm of her mother and grandmother, queens of the principality and of charity. Anastasius, court chamberlain, expert in etiquette and ceremonial protocol, comes to the aid of the Highness. it is he who happily suggests the right strategy to fall in love with the hearts of the subjects and attract the attention of the press: show himself in public with a plebeian, fall in love with him, promise to pretend and get rid of him for real one step away from the altar, even accusing him of treason. The promised spouse is fished in Naples and taken to the principality where the 'unexpected' meeting was organized. Antonio de Biase, unemployed with the habit of latching, falls madly in love, unaware of the court chamberlain's good manners and plans. Amid exaggerated blunders and missed bows, Antonio alters the noble balance and plunges the castle into chaos. A poem by Jacques Pre'vert and a song by Sergio Bruni put them back together in a new and 'fabulous' order.
