Finally on CD comes this classic title in Beat Records’ catalog, until now available exclusively on vinyl in the iconic F series: NOI DONNE SIAMO FATTE COSI’ (1971), starring the lovely Monica Vitti, directed by Dino Risi and featuring a moving score by the immortal Maestro Armando Trovajoli. The protagonist plays a host of roles throughout the episodic (twelve!) movie, including the beguiled and abandoned, the mother of 22 children, the artist-victim of the husband, the woman in a supposedly open relationship who turns out to be insanely jealous, etc. (aside from great Sister Kathleen, the true icon of this album).
The Maestro elevates the movie with his usual talent, scoring episodes with a symphonic palette full of great melodies, long-deserving of a complete edition on CD. This release was prepared by long-time Beat Records sound engineer Enrico De Gemini, who newly transferred and skillfully restored the soundtrack from the original recording session ¼ inch master tapes.
The liner notes were written by journalist and music expert Gabriele Pescatore, a welcome addition to the team of Beat Records commentators, and Daniele De Gemini’s graphic design complete this jewel case edition featuring a 12-page booklet, available in the CDCR classic series.
A rightful tribute to one of the most shining stars in Italian film music.
