Philip Kaufman directs the detective thriller "Twisted" (originally to be titled "The Blackout Murders"), with a script by upcoming filmmaker Sarah Thorp. Ashley Judd plays police detective Jessica Shepard, who works under the jurisdiction of police Commissioner Mills (Samuel L. Jackson). While investigating a murder case, Jessica discovers that all the victims were her former boyfriends. She is considered the prime suspect, because she starts blacking out before each murder occurs. Then her current boyfriend, Mike Delmarco (Andy Garcia), is suspected. 2004
