SEALED
Original soundtrack from newly-scored version of ill-fated 1965 Sam Peckinpah civil war-era western with Charlton Heston. Director disowned original score, found movie edited by Columbia before initial release in 1965. Sony Pictures commissions new symphonic score by Christopher Caliendo, restores music to Peckinpah's original intention. Caliendo avoids civil war tunes, brings degree of intensity to violent tale. Opening massacre now launches with dynamic, agitated music for strings, brass. Hints of Native American color, Mexican locale give score additional scope. Special CD release appears through cooperation of Sony Pictures, American Federation of Musicians, composer Caliendo, Peckinapah historian Nick Redman and Intrada. Christopher Caliendo conducts.
