Music Arranged by Lee Holdridge
BSX Records is proud to present LEE HOLDRIDGE AND HIS ORCHESTRA, a collection of familiar contemporary and film themes originally released in 1972.
Lee Holdridge, born in Haiti, raised in Guatemala and Costa Rica, moved to Boston to attend the Newton School of Music. Lee's unique approach to contemporary music suddenly became "in" and personalities like Melanie, Neil Sedaka, Mary Travers, Andy Kim, Roger Williams, John Denver and Peter Nero began calling on his talents for their recording sessions.
Concurrently, Lee found time for composing works by Trinity, which the Joffrey Ballet Company performed at Berkeley University, Los Angeles Art Center, New York's City Center and in London. The most perfect marriage of "Artist" and "Arranger/Conductor" came about when Lee Holdridge teamed up with Neil Diamond. They produced a string of hits that showed no sign of letting up. For a taste of their productivity, listen to Lee's tribute to Neil. It's well worth the price of admission.
