Intrada announces a 2-CD set of the music from Skydance Animation's feature film Luck. For the film, composer John Debney composed a huge score, filled with themes, action and thrills. It's an adventure score with so much heart that upon hearing it Intrada Executive Producer Roger Feigelson felt urgently compelled to chase down Debney, Sony Music and Skydance Animation to coordinate an expanded release. While the music was made available on digital platforms at the time of the film's release, no physical album made available. The score in full form is a delight from start to finish, with musical inspiration bursting from one measure to the next. There are themes for the hopelessly unlucky main character Sam, the land of Luck itself, and many more. The music is riveting.
For this release, Intrada engaged Chris Malone to completely reassemble and expand the score over what had initially been offered digitally, creating a nearly 100-minute program.
Directed by Peggy Holmes, the story follows Sam Greenfield (Eva Noblezada), an 18-year-old orphan who has experienced a lifetime of misfortune. After discovering a lucky penny that briefly changes her fortunes, Sam loses it and embarks on a journey to the Land of Luck—a hidden realm where magical creatures manage the balance of good and bad luck for the human world. With the help of a talking black cat named Bob (Simon Pegg), she navigates this whimsical world in hopes of securing good luck for her young friend Hazel. And with all her adventures in the film, she's never more than a musical note away from John Debney's score. -INTRADA
