After an accident, Melissa makes friend with a bird she calls Black Feather. This waggish and very clever bird helps her to overcome her handicap. But one day, after it escapes, Black Feather causes so much damages that the Oregon Hunting and Fishing Department decides it has to be killed. An unprecedented trial takes place in order to know if Black Feather must be saved and if the treasure it buried under a hollow tree must be given to Melissa's parents... Will Black Feather be saved?
