Ostwind – The Great Hurricane (2020) is the fifth and final installment in the popular and highly successful Ostwind series: Due to a violent summer storm, a traveling horse circus show arrives in Kaltenbach, along with its fanatical circus director, Yiri. Ari, who has now settled in well at the stud farm, is magically drawn to the fascinating world of equestrianism. She wants to help an old show horse, but Yiri sees through her daring plan, and Ostwind is in danger. Then Mika returns from Canada, just in time, because only by joining forces can they succeed in saving their beloved Ostwind.
A central component of the series are the gripping film music by Annette Focks: she has composed the music for all previous Ostwind films and released them on CD by Alhambra Records: Ostwind – Together we are free (CD A 9014), Ostwind – Departure to Ora (including a suite from Ostwind 2 , CD A 9042) and Ostwind – Aris Arrival (CD A 9050).
We are delighted to now release the final installment in the series , Ostwind – Der große Hurkan (CD A 9055), on CD. Annette Focks collaborated with the Slovak National Symphony Orchestra and their conductor Gottfried Rabl to record the music. Her music combines the familiar themes of the series with new, gripping, sensitive, and rousing ideas. The CD runs approximately 61 minutes, and the CD booklet contains 16 pages.
