Ciliegine (Cherry on the Cake) is a movie directed in 2012 by Laura Morante, who acts alongside Isabelle Carrè, Pascal Elbé and Samir Guesmi in a nearly comic strip-style comedy based on the relationships between women and men during separation.
A fine debut with good critical and box office results, Ciliegine has the important support of a score composed by the popular composer Nicola Piovani, Oscar award winner for La vita è bella (Life is Beautiful), who winks an eye to easy jazz melodies, and with his usual proficiency, underlines the movie’s images with appropriate music and great efficiency.
The warranty of a quality name can’t mislead you on what to expect from this score: a beautiful soundtrack indeed!
