The first soundtrack release for the 1997 Mothra film is a nice collection of music from the feature. Composer Toshiyuki Watanabe delivers a very pleasant score here that manages to host both very soothing and more action oriented cues. Watanabe's work also manages to capture the more carefree and kid oriented feeling of the production, as tracks like "At the Cape" work very well to express the more lighthearted nature of the proceedings. The standout track, though, is really Dagahra's theme, "Dagahra Arrives", which is a nicely constructed cue effectively utilizing drum work to express the mass and power of the creature.
