In this early adaptation of Thornton Wilder's hit Broadway play, we meet matchmaker Dolly Levi (Shirley Booth), who is always good at arranging things primarily matrimonial and has now set her sights on the domestic affairs of one Mr. Vandergelder (Paul Ford), a cold-hearted local store owner.
